This week we start the production phase of our game. Our goal was to have the basics of the game, so I was task with creating the allies basic mechanics as at this point the game was a RTS 3rd person shooter. So with that in mind i started working on creating the allies movement. I created away for the player to select the either one or a group of allies and move them to another spot. This was hard at first as I had only started using playmaker a couple weeks ago. So creating this was hard as I felt restricted by what actions the where available to me. This did make me get creative. As i ended up using a pathfinder (nav mesh) and setting the allies to move when clicked on to the target object which would spawn wherever I clicked which using a fsm which had a move to target object was enable which made the enemy move, I also created a fsm that handle the selction of which allies would move. I did this by have all the alllies movement fsm be turned off and had it so if allies where selected it would turn their fsm allowing them to move to the target object.

How it worked on playmaker

While we where in on our Friday meeting i realised that not everyone new exactly what the game was. On Saturday the art and design lead ask me to set up a meeting to give everyone a clear idea on what the game was which i agreed to and set it up for the next day. I put it in the general chat that there will be a meeting on Sunday. We held the meeting and not everyone showed up but those who did got the run down on the the game was going to be about. A 3 level 3rd person shooter with a steampunk low poly art style. It was later put in the general chat for everyone to see can come back to. This did lead to my work that I did for the week no long being needed.

Personal Overview

As project lead I should have made sure that not only I but the rest of the team was on the same page as what was the game. As this could have caused a lot more problems then just my work for that week no longer being needed. Also I should have sent everyone personal messages on discord not just in the general chat as not everyone see the notification on general chat, this could have lead to a better turn out for the meeting and making sure that everyone knows what the game is.
